GROOVE YOUR CLASSROOM
​Groove takes drum kit rhythms and places them across common classroom percussion instruments and shows how these can be delivered in practical ways that are both musical and theoretical .
The classroom workshop is then built around those grooves giving the piece a particular groove or energy from which to build the whole class composition.

There are three units in the series.
  • Groove 1 focuses on the the basic Rock beat (back beat) and Disco . 
  • Groove 2 focuses on Caribbean rhythms adding Reggae, Dancehall and Tumbao   
  • Finally Groove 3 adds Afrobeat (Nigeria), Cumbia (Columbia and South America) and Bhangra (Northern India) grooves.

Groove resources include play alongs, how to use the instrument videos, audio resources and background/historical/cultural information on each of the grooves.
