About our workshops

"To see the music staff and students so engaged absolutely proves how solid your methods are. We are already having conversations and planning our next steps on how to include MF across our curriculum"
John, The British School, Jakarta.

5 great reasons to attend a workshop in 2019
Musical Futures teacher professional development focuses on supporting and extending the skills of classroom and instrumental teachers to create sustainable music opportunities for students in schools.
It is underpinned by pedagogies developed from informal learning and non-formal teaching approaches to classroom music.
Delegates put themselves in the position of their learners and, above all, Musical Futures training reminds teachers of their musical roots and is always a fun, inspiring and creative day.

You'll leave a Musical Futures workshops ready to implement what you've learned straightaway

"I tried it out on Monday morning with my Grade 9 class; they worked for all class time and into their lunch break on their accord (this has never happened before). I had never worked so fast on a piece of music before, they had worked out their parts so quickly. It is great that I can apply this so quickly into my classes"
Chris, ISS International School, Singapore

All our workshops come with a suite of free resources ready for immediate use in the classroom. Read more...
Lunch and refreshments are also provided and following the workshop you'll receive a Professional Learning certificate.

New workshop options for 2019: choose the workshop program that suits you most

Depending on your location we have one and two day options for both experienced Musical Futures teachers and teachers who are new to the Musical Futures approach.  We offer 2 day introduction or Introduction and Recharge workshops followed by a day going 'further into Musical Futures'.

Just Play and Groove Your Classroom workshops

These workshops are available separately but we recommend teachers do both workshops in sequence.  These workshops are usually programmed as a pair and scheduled a month or so apart in each workshop location.

Just Play focuses on building foundational musical, instrumental and ensemble playing skills while Groove Your Classroom extends this and leads to the implementation of Informal Learning and Non- Formal Teaching approaches that Musical Futures is renown for.

Stand alone workshops

We also offer a number of single day workshops covering one or more of the following Musical Futures units of work including Find Your Voice,  Hear Listen Play, Musical Futures Studio Music technology and creative collaborations using the Soundtrap online resource.  Plus there are the new for 2019 Musical Futures Styles and Musical Futures Instrumental Teachers workshops that will become available during Term 2.

Been to a Musical Futures workshop before but want to see what's new?

Our RECHARGE workshops are the perfect way to stay up to date with Musical Futures approaches and resources.  A full day RECHARGE workshop neatly packages up these new units and materials as they are released for our more experienced teachers
