About the 2020 BiG GiG

The BiG GiG 2020 continues the tradition of the 2016 and 2018 Conferences where where participants make music –
some organised, some improvised with the view of taking their music making along with new ideas, new skills and new resources back into the classroom.  The BiG GiG is a place to play, sing, compose, arrange, produce, scratch, rap, scat and improvise through two days of interactive workshops.

All this punctuated by a thought provoking keynote presentation along with time to socialise and share with like minded teachers from around Australia, New Zealand and from across Asia.

The 2020 BiG GiG Programme

To be honest our 2020 BiG GiG programme is still being finalised as we work though the selection and confirmation of some of the best local and international music educators and workshop leaders.

What we can say at this stage is that the program will be diverse and will take Musical Futures to places and genres we have never been ....'til now.  The programme will feature:

Scatterbrain - vocal workshops where melody meets rhythm and voices become beats
Indigenous Music - from cultural traditions to contemporary sounds
Global Grooves
Video in music - include music video in your performance and as an assessment
Further Into Informal Learning
Music Technology

and much, much more.

The full program will be announced March 2020.
